Check the exposure and ensure that your camera is set to burst. Make sure that the background is simple for each development.

Consider the different ways that you could develop your ideas
1) look at the work of Edward Horsford and his balloon series. Fill the ballons with water and food colouring and then pop the balloons and using a fast shutter speed cature the explosion
2) Look at the work of Wolfgang Tillman and his abstract colour series take a series of long exposure light paintings and then invert he images in photoshop. Look at the work of former studenst Max Clarke for inspiration

Upload the new double exposure images and then print them out. Then look at past students work for recipes and the film soup web site and experiment with different chemicals on the prints. Dip negs in chemicals and then let them dry before shooting them and putting them into be developed and see what the effect is on the image. Visit city landscapes that can then be double exposed with your planet images. look at the listed artist for inspiration

Crit Feedback- Exciting developments particularly the most recent developments with film and altering prints physically. Next steps:
Bringing more photography into the work.
Eg. Look at the work of Aaron Farley and create different layers to photograph in order to create something that appears like a landscape. Make sure that you have a shallow depth of field. Combine real objects and images. What could you use that could look like a spaceship if it was out of focus.

Btw, I saw some photographers at Paris Photo that also photograph models. Perhaps you could place real objects in front of your paintings / photographs that are already printed.
Sonja Braas:
Sonja Braas’ work (*1968 in Siegen) is fascinating and secretive at the same time. Majestic to dramatic perspectives on nature or irritatingly detailed structures are frequent topics in her work. But they somehow seem strange and artificial. This impression is part of her concept, as the photographs are taken from models, that she previously constructed with extraordinary precision in her studio. Enigmatic, sometimes uncanny scenes are frozen in time. From the very beginning of her career, she addresses the idea of a certain media-influenced image of nature and the complex world around the individual. |
Coris and Sonderegger recreate famous images- maybe good for the Curatorship task rather than this practical project:

Consider the idea of experimenting on film
1) Take colour film and experiment putting different chemicals on it before taking it to be developed , try this using 120, 35mm and sheet film.

Print out images of the bleached negs and then using paint spray paint work back into over the top of the image. These can then be photographed and rescanned back in to the computer like the work of Maya Rochat. As conversation with Dad print onto acetate and then work into that as well. Also consider different chemical bleach and other things to create effects consider layers of paper paint act to build up colour and effect.

The project needs to start taking on a photographic element at the moment it is just photographs of your art creations. There needs to be a focus this could take the form of the following
1)Once your film is developed experiment on the images and the negs to see how different chemical processes effect the images and then rescan the prints negs back into photoshop
2) Look at the work of Maya Rochat and start the develop the idea of spraying/painting onto photographic paper and see the abstract effect that it has on the surface of the paper

Take the new sculpture creations to be photographed with the aim of then putting the images into photoshop and blowing up certain sections.
Look at the work of Mariah Robertson and use her photographic paper creations as inspiration.
Once you have photographed the objects the prints could then be printed out and worked on top off using different chemicals and potentially spray paint and varnish.

The development showing movement of light is interesting but you need to have a focus what is the meaning behind the work is it purely a visual representation of abstract light. Experiment starting to take videos of the light in the style of former student Ivo Todorov and also link the work to the images of Michael Bossanko and Jennifer west
